    Mike is nine this year, but he's 1 in Grade One. He's tall in his class and his 2 is in the last row(排).     Welcome to the virtual tour of Woodlands Junior School in the south-east corner of the UK.

    The school was built in the 1960s. The main building of our school is two floors with four classes on each floor. We also have classes in outer buildings.

    Our classrooms are large and every classroom, in the main teaching block, has its own resource(资源) area.

    We have a good music room where we hold our lessons. Many of our students play a variety of musical instruments(乐器). We are the only school in our area to have a Singing and Signing Choir. The children use their voices as well as sign language.

We have a school hall. The colourful curtains(窗帘) you can see, were provided(提供) by our Friends Association. Behind the curtains is our dining hall. The hall is used for gymnastics, assemblies, eating lunch and is the place where we hold our many events.

      The students start arriving on our playground from about 8:45 am. Most of our children walk but some travel to school by car.

      The children wear a school uniform and carry their homework and lunch in a school bag.

      School begins at 8:55 a.m. The duty teacher blows a whistle and the children line up in their class groups. They wait quietly for the teacher to send them to their classrooms.

      On arriving in their classrooms, the children empty their bags and put their homework in the marking boxes. The children then go back into their classrooms.

The children do their early morning work while their class teacher takes the attendance register(考勤簿).The teacher reads out each child's name in turn. At 9:10 a.m., the children go to assembly in our main hall. They sit on the floor in rows with the youngest children at the front and the older children at the back. As the children go into the hall, they listen quietly to the music playing.

  I am a student of a middle school. My class teacher is Mrs. Green. She is more than 30 years old. She is our English and History teacher. She is strict(严格) and at the same time she is very kind.

    In our school, there is a playground. We do morning exercises, play basketball and volleyball there. Our PE teacher, Mr. Jackson teaches us to do ball games. He was once a successful sportsman. He is our hero. Our school also has a swimming pool. We take swimming lessons there.

    Our school building is very large and the school hall is on the ground floor. Every year, we have a prize-giving ceremony(颁奖典礼)in the hall.
