My neighbor's eight-year-old daughter used to stay in the countryside, her native place. Recently parents brought her to town to live with them. Wild and uneducated, she would use dirty words when she was unhappy and even hit others when she was angry. Sometimes she went so far as to roll on the ground, which shocked all people around. Her parents tried to educate her by beating and kicking. However, it just made the problem more serious. Finally they became completely disappointed with her.

    The Tower of London is in the north bank of the River Thames. According to the history, King Edward of England had promised to give the throne to William, Duke of Normandy. But at last he gave the throne to Harold Godwinson, his English brother in law.

    Funny things may happen in different places around the world.       Yes. Every year, it was held by the Oxford and the Cambridge in late March or early April on the Thames River, England. This boat race is as famous as the two oldest universities in Britain.

           It came from two friends—Charles Merivale, a student at Cambridge, and his friend Charles Wordsworth who was at Oxford. They decided to set up a boat race between the two universities. On March 12, 1829, Cambridge sent a challenge to Oxford first.

    The first boat race took place in a small town in Thames.       Crowds of twenty thousand traveled to watch. It was so exciting. And the Oxford was clear winners.
