Their parents, grandparents or even great-grandparents are from China. They all have black eyes and black hair, so they look like us, Chinese people.

    There are many famous "banana people" in America. They do very well in America and they are really great in their own fields（领域）.

    Every evening the young Fisherman(渔夫) goes out on the sea. He throws his nets(网) into the water. When the wind blows from the land（陆地）, he doesn't catch many fish. But when the wind blows from the sea, he catches lots of fish and he can sell them at the market（市场）.

One evening the Fisherman's net is very heavy. He thinks, "Are all the fish in the sea in my net? Or is there a monster（怪物） in my net?" He pulls and pulls his net.

    There are no fish or monsters in his net. But there is a little Mermaid（美人鱼）and she is sleeping.

    "I promise," cries the Mermaid. The Fisherman opens his arms and frees the frightened Mermaid. She swims down under the water.

    Every evening the Fisherman calls the Mermaid. And she comes and sings for him. But she doesn't come near him. Her song and her voice are sweet to his ears. And the Fisherman forgets his nets and the fish. His eyes are full of love.

    Some animals live in the same park. They like to get together and talk about their great dreams.

    A small bird says, "I have a good voice. I can make beautiful sounds. I want to be a great singer like Tan Jing. People will love my songs."

    A young horse says, "I am good at running. I can run faster than Liu Xiang. I want to be the best runner some day. I will win a gold medal（金牌）."

    You should give yourself at least thirty minutes in all for reading every day. When time is set(选定), nothing can change it. For example, make it a habit to read during breakfast or lunchtime.

Always carry a book

    Wherever（无论何处）you go, take a book with you. When you leave the house, make sure（确信） that you always carry a good book and your school things. Remember that a book always stays with you.

Find a quiet place

    Find a place in your home. There is a comfortable chair in it. When you read a book, no one will trouble（打扰）you. There are no televisions, computers, music or even noisy family members around you.

Have a library day

    Have a library card, and you can read as many good books as you can in the library. Go to the library every week, and you can save a lot of money.

Put it on your blog (博客) 

    One of the best ways to develop a good reading habit is to put it on your blog. If you don't have one, create(创建) one. You don't need to pay any money. Ask your friends and family to go there to share your ideas and give you some advice(建议).
