Don't waste time on people who cheat you.

Value other people's time. Do not be late. That means if you're late, you don't        them or their time. And that also means you think you're        more and therefore can keep them waiting. Some people will tell you that it's OK to be late. But it's not.

Fail

Fail. Fail a lot. Fail often. Fail in making friends. Fail in work. But please don't        your heart! Build up confidence and learn a lesson.

If you don't learn something when you fail, then all you've done is failed. If you learn something, then you've       . Every time you fail and learn, you become better at finding out the way to success.

In your dreams, you may clearly see something or hear someone talking. But what about smells? Can you ever remember smells from your dreams?

A study published in 1896 looked at different sensory (感官的) experiences in dreams. It found visual (视觉的) experience 1 controls one's dreams. It takes up about 85%, while auditory (听觉的) makes up 69%, and smell only 7%.

But why? Now scientists have possible reasons based on what is known about the brain.

In our brain, there is a special part called the cerebral cortex (大脑皮层). It is linked to our feelings. As much as two-thirds of the cerebral cortex works in vision (视力). So vision

2 often in dreams. Auditory is closely tied to language, and language is processed entirely in the cerebral cortex. Smell, 3, has little to do with the cerebral cortex. It connects directly into the memory and emotional systems. That's why a smell can bring back a memory.

Another 4 is that perhaps smell is not easily affected (影响) by our imagination. For example, close your eyes and imagine your favorite dish. What do you get? It is easy to think about what it looks like. But it is not as easy to imagine its smell.

Vision and auditory is a complex (复杂的) process inside the brain. But smell is a direct measurement (衡量) of the chemicals in the air. There is 5 imagination involved in smell. Therefore, smell might not be much affected by the brain activity during dreaming.

It is 6 to taste and touch. That is why you don't often have the experience of taste and touch in your dreams.

Fights at school sometimes happen. But how can you keep away from a fight? Here's something you can do.

Be c      . Sometimes, you feel so angry that you really want to teach somebody a lesson. But being angry doesn't do any good. Neither can a fight. I      , it may bring you more problems. On Friday, 7 June, an Italian Airlines flight was ready to leave Rome for Tokyo in Japan. All the passengers were on the plane. The departure time was 21:00. The seatbelt signs were turned on, so passengers were not allowed to stand up and had to stay in their seats. Then something unusual happened.

A woman decided that she had to go to the toilet. So she got up and walked to the back of the plane. The toilet door was clearly marked ‘TOILET', but the woman opened a door next to the toilet. This door was the emergency exit and, when she opened it, the evacuation slide (逃生滑梯) opened. Because of this, the plane was not able to take off.

All the passengers had to leave the plane. When the evacuation slide has opened, there are two possibilities. Workers can change the slide at the airport, but the flight will be delayed for a long time. Or the plane can take off without an evacuation slide and replace it when it has landed, but the number of passengers on the plane must be smaller for safety reasons.

Thirty-eight passengers had to stay at a hotel at the Airport and take another flight the next day. The other passengers got back on the plane, and it finally took off at 05:10 on Saturday morning. It arrived in Tokyo at 14:10. Some passengers found that their luggage was still in Italy. But perhaps they were lucky …
