As you probably know, it's my sister Suzie's 16th birthday in a week. We're planning a surprise party for her. Julie's going to pick her up from school as usual on Friday but she's not taking her home. She's bringing her to the Palace Hotel, the big modern one near the station. We're having a meal there and we've also hired (租用) the ballroom (舞厅) for a party in the evening. I hope you can come!

    All her friends from school are coming and quite a few of the people from our village, too. Of course, Mum and Dad are coming up from England and I've managed to persuade (说服) our other sister, Marie, to come over from Australia. She's bringing her kids with her, too.

    After the party we're going to have another one on Saturday! Well, not really a party. We're inviting the family and close friends (that includes you) for a meal at the house. If the weather is nice, we'd like to have a barbecue in the garden. Julie's going to make a special cake for Suzie.

    Anyway, we hope to make it a really special weekend for Suzie. On Sunday we're all going for a walk in the country. You know how she loves walking and we're all going to need a bit of exercise after all that lovely food. We're hoping to go up to the lake. Marie said she wanted her kids to feed the ducks just like Suzie and she did when they were very young. I'm sure Suzie will love that too.

    Many people today like reading stories about UFO.Many people in different countries are studying the UFO.

    There are some different saying for UFO.Among those sayings,the most popular one for UFO is that UFOs are strange creatures(生物) to the earth from other stars.We can call them aliens.

    UFO scientists and many people believed this saying.Some people said that they saw a few UFOs landing on the earth.They seemed to be objects rather like big plates.Some people said that they saw some strange visitors coming out of the UFOs.

    Some people make mistakes when they say they have seen UFOs high in the sky.Perhaps they see a weather balloon or an uncommon plane or the light they see in the sky comes from the ground.Sometimes they see the light from the moon.

    But these are a lot of others we can't understand.It may take many years to find a clear answer and then people will give UFO another name.

    Kyle Coleman is 31 years old. At a young age, Kyle developed autism (自闭症) . He used to go to the hospital but it didn't really work. The autism was so serious that he could only speak several words. He couldn't have any physical contact (接触) with others.

    However, he took part in a special performance recently. For the first time, he sang and even held hands with his singing partner Lottee Brown. He found a way to express himself through songs.

    Kyle's mom, Caroline Coleman, was very excited. She said music allowed her son to connect with another person for the first time. "He doesn't normally let people touch him. When Lottee first held his hand, he jumped a little bit, and then he seemed to think and said, 'It's okay.'"

    "That was the most important," Caroline said. "I hope they can continue to sing together. Kyle blossoms (开花) and grows every day. I'm very proud of him. Music has changed him a lot."

   Tea, coffee and cocoa are three major drinks all over the world. Tea is drunk by the largest number of people in the world. Tea, as well as silk and porcelain, began to be known by the world over a thousand years ago and has been an important Chinese export since then.

   Tea has a history of over 4, 000 years and China is the home of tea. In ancient China, tea was used as a kind of medicine, while nowadays people drink tea daily. Longjing, Pu'er, Wulong and Tieguanyin are all famous tea. Thanks to the mild climate and rich soil in Fujian, Zhejiang and Yunnan, tea is produced mainly in these provinces.

   The words for tea in different languages came from Chinese, like “cha' i” in Russian. And the Japanese character for tea is written exactly the same as it is in Chinese.

   Over the past centuries, Chinese people have developed their unique(独特的)tea culture, which includes tea planting, tea-leaf  picking, tea making, tea drinking and so on. Tea is also popular in some sayings, like “A friendship between gentlemen is like a cup of tea.” In dances, songs, poems and novels, tea is often mentioned, too.

    Different countries have different customs. When you travel to other countries, please respect their customs, just as the saying goes：When in Rome, do as the Romans do.

    Very often people who travel to the United States forget to tip (付小费). It is usual to tip those who help carry your bags, taxi drivers and waiters. Waiters expect to get a 15% tip on the cost of your meal. So do the taxi drivers.
