Market Square

Start your visit at the open-air market at Market Square on the South Harbor. In summer, you can watch people selling fish and potatoes from their boats, eat a bag of fresh strawberries, or a sandwich from the Old Market Hall and sit out on the stone dock (码头) to watch the boats coming and going.

Take a boat ride

From the Market Square, there are four or five possible boat rides. You can take a boat to travel around the islands of Helsinki. Or, you can take a water bus to Helsinki Zoo.

Seurasaari

Seurasaari is only minutes from the center of Helsinki. Once you cross the bridge to the island, you'll find yourself in 18th and 19th century Finland.

On May 15, 2018, a team of mountain climbers from Peking University(北大) reached the top of the world's highest mountain to celebrate the university's 120^th birthday .They practised for two years for their climb to the summit.

The team has fourteen climbers: seven students from the Mountaineering Association of  Peking University (MAPKU北大山鹰社) , two teachers and five alumni. The youngest of them is only twenty-one and the oldest one is in his fifties. Twelve of them made it to the summit of Mountain Qomolangma, as one of the team members felt sick and another stayed in the camp to help the team when they came back from the top.

To our surprise, the first member to reach the summit was a girl named WeiWei. It was the third time for her to reach the top of this mountain. Peking University alumnus Huang Nubo, who led the team, said," Reaching the top of the mountain was not the only goal." "It's more important to know how the team work closely and fight with difficulties when climbing high. It is also the spirit of the University," he said. Started in 1989, the MAPKU now is the most famous amateur mountaineering club in China. In 1998, three members reached the 8,201-metre Mount Cho Oyu, the world's sixth-highest mountain, to celebrate their university's 100^th birthday. Besides, they also held activities to save animals and plants as well as protect mountains.

You may know the English letters A, B and C. But do you know there are people called ABCs? Do you know there is such a thing as "a banana person"? How strange! ABC means American-born Chinese. An ABC is a Chinese, but was born in the United States. Sometimes, people call an ABC a "banana person". A banana is yellow outside. For example, we all know the famous scientist C. N. Yang (杨振宁). He got the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1957. Chinese people love him. But he is an American citizen.

Everyone wants to find happiness. But sometimes looking for happiness is not easy. Just when you think you nearly reach it, something unexpected happens. This may puzzle you a lot.

Here are some tips for helping you find happiness.

Don't put all your eggs in one basket. If you depend on one thing or one person to make you happy, it may be impossible. You need to make more friends and take part in more activities.

Follow your heart. When we go against our own thoughts, we usually feel sad. Follow your strong feeling and let it guide you through your life. Day by day, you will be happier than before.

Organize your ideas. Many people push away happiness when they think too much. Don't keep everything in head. Try to make a list of the things that you find difficult to do. You may find the list isn't as long as you thought. You can do most of the things on your own.

Look at your life as a whole. Most of the things that prevent us from feeling happy are just some little things.
