    I come from a small village in North China. Every year, when the Spring Festival comes, people can see red flowers on the windows of my house. Of course, these flowers are not real and they are paper flowers. But 1 the cold winter days, these wonderful flowers make us feel 2. They can 3 my family and make us feel happy. But do you know who cuts them? It is my grandmother and she is 70 years old now. With a few cuts, she can 4 pieces of paper into a beautiful work of art.

    When my grandma was a little girl, people 5 her as the most clumsy(笨拙的) child in her family. But one winter night, she saw her new neighbor could cut some beautiful red paper flowers. She was so 6in it and decided to learn from the new neighbor. Lots of paper was wasted and her fingers were cut many times, but she7 practicing.     Jeans have become one piece of clothing worn by the most people in the world. Everybody wears them, from the farmer to the lawyer and from models to housewives. But why have jeans become so popular? You'll get many answers. For some people they look cool, for others jeans are just comfortable.

    Jeans were first stronger trousers made for farm workers in the states of the American west. In the eastern part of the US jeans were hardly worn at all. They were connected with farm people and the workers. So the rich wouldn't like to wear them.

    It was James Dean and Marlon Brando that made them popular in movies and everyone started to wear them. They were a symbol of the rebellion of young people during the 1950s and 1960s. So these new trousers were not allowed in American schools and sometimes in theatres and cinemas. As time went on, jeans became more acceptable. American people in Europe and Japan often wore them when they were not on duty to show that they were Americans. The trousers showed the world a happier way of life, something people needed, especially after what they had gone through in World War II.

    Jeans had other advantages as well. They didn't need to be washed as often as other trousers and women didn't need to iron（熨烫） them. This became more important as more and more women started working and had less time for housework.

    Today jeans are an important part of our lives. They are always washed a few times before they are sold to give them a faded(以褪色的) look.

    Last Saturday afternoon, I went to the shopping center with my little daughter. While I        looking for the parking space, I saw a young woman pushing her shopping cart(购物车) in front of us.       cart looked too heavy for her because it was        of food and drinks. She was also carrying three bags in her hands. She saw us and tried to move to the side so that we could       . At that time, the wind blew away two of the food bags and she ran to catch       .     I stopped my car and told my daughter to wait for a minute. I ran to the woman and she said sorry first. She told me those things were for her son's birthday party. I helped her put the things in her car. She said, "Thank you so much." I smiled and said, "I am a mother,      . Many people helped me before. I just want to       the kindness to the people around me." She said thanks again and got in her car.

    When I walked to the shopping center        my daughter, she took my hand and looked happy. I think it is the best action I have done and I believe that children are always watching        their parents do.

    Christmas is a Christian holiday that celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ. No one knows the exact date of Christ's birth, but most Christians celebrate it on December 25th. On this day, many people go to church, they can take part in special religious services. In Britain, Christmas dinner is eaten at noon. During the Christmas season, they also exchange gifts and decorate their homes.

    One German couple tried their best to prepare for their Christmas decorations in a different way. Thomas and Susanne decorated the outside of their house with a few simple Christmas decorations. From the outside, their house looks normal. However, the inside of the house is so different from the outside.

    They started decorating in October. It took them 8 weeks to set everything up. They put 100 Christmas trees into their small house! They decorate the trees with small coloured electric lights and 16,000 baubles.

    They did not always have so many trees. In the beginning, they had a small Christmas collection. As time went on, they grew their collection rapidly. They started decorating in early October. It's so special even the bathroom has a Santa Claus toilet seat.
