        Every day, we receive a lot of love from others. But how much love do we return? 1 the winter vacation, I made a survey with ten questions, including "Can you remember the birthdays of 2 parents and friends?" and "Are you 3 with your way of returning their love?"

        Among the 50 people I interviewed in a park, 4 unforgettable was an old man. He no longer had any 5 to contact his best friends and parents because they all died ten years 6. I could see deep sadness through the ears in his eyes.

        After 7 the interview, I started to ask myself how long it had been 8 the last time I met my parents or best friends. Being busy is always my excuse.

    A young man once went to buy a pair of pants. When he got home, he went upstairs(上楼) to his bedroom and put them on. He found that they were two inches(英寸) long.

    Then he came out of his room to see his mother and his two sisters. They were washing something in the kitchen. “These new pants are too long, they need to be shortened(缩短) about two inches. Would one of you like to do this for me, please?” His mother and sisters were busy and none of them said anything.     The younger sister went to the cinema, but when she came back, she also remembered what her brother had said. So she ran upstairs, and took two inches off the legs of the new pants.

    My husband and children think they are very lucky that they are living and that it's Christmas again. They can't see that we live on a dirty street in a dirty house among people who aren't much good. But Johnny and children can't see this. What a pity it is that our neighbours have to make happiness out of all this dirt. I decided that my children must get out of this. The money that we've saved isn't nearly enough.

    The McGaritys have money but they are so proud. They look down on the poor. The McGarity girl just yesterday stood out there in the street eating from a bag of candy while a group of hungry children watched her. I saw those children looking at her and crying in their hearts; and when she couldn't eat any more she threw the rest down the sewer(下水道). Why, is it only because they have money? There is more to happiness than money in the world, isn't there?

    Miss Jackson who teaches at the Settlement House isn't rich, but she knows things. She understands people. Her eyes look straight into yours when she talks with you. She can read your mind. I'd like to see the children be like Miss Jackson when they grow up.

During the movie, they dress up as women and fight with Italian workers. You can guess the ending, but it's great fun getting there.

    This is a very good drama with Jack Ross, who plays a hard-working truck driver. His wife becomes ill and he has to find a doctor who can help her. In his travels he meets Dr. Lloyd (Phil Driver) who has found the cure(治愈方法) for the illness, but Jack Ross has only twelve hours to get the medicine back to his wife on the other side of America. This is an excellent movie, which is very exciting.

    Mrs. Davies was a teacher in India. One summer she got a job as a teacher in an international school. But the school was in London. After she discussed with her husband, they decided to move to London.

    One day, after dinner, Mr. and Mrs. Davies told their son, Matt, the decision about moving to London. The boy felt surprised and upset. He didn't want to leave his friends. He said that he would rather live with his classmate, Mike. His parents thought that he would change his mind later. Soon, it was August. Mr. and Mrs. Davies were busy packing. However, Matt refused to go together with his parents.
