    China has made big progress in running competitions! The young 1 Su Bingtian made history on Sunday by becoming the 2 Asian athlete to appear in the men's 100m final at the world athletics championships.

    As the 3 man in China, Su was born in a 4 family in Guangdong in 1989. His parents were both farmers and had a lot of work to do on the farm every day. So Su often helped them with housework at home. Though his study was not very good, he was 5at running than many other boys in his class. He6 this kind of sport very much, so he practised running as often as possible. In 2004, Su started to take part in different competitions and has won many prizes since then. And this year, he managed* to finish 100 metres in 9.99 7. That was the best result in Asia. His dream8! When he heard the news, he could not believe 9 ears.

    When Riley turns eleven, her family moves to San Francisco because her father gets a new job there. The little girl has to live in a new place and get on with new classmates. Then something bad happens. Because of the working problem of the five emotions, Riley becomes difficult and often gets angry easily. Everyone is worried about that…

    It is true that people with better education are usually able to get better paying jobs. In other words, they have more chances to choose a good job while people with little or no education don't. It seems that the purpose of education is to make people get jobs. But not all the people agree with this idea.

    Some people may think that a person should spend the best years of his life to get education in order to make more money in the future. This was probably one of the earliest purposes of education. In fact, if education is just a way to make a living, people don't need to spend so much time in school. They can get education for a living in a short time. Subjects like history and geography need not be taught to everyone. And people don't have to learn maths and languages so carefully. So it is clear that education is much more than teaching a man to get a way of living.

    So what is education for? Education is well—rounded and it should improve a man in many ways. It is not only to teach him to speak, read and write, but also to develop his creative* thinking and other abilities. After that, it is to make him a wise man and thankfully enjoy the achievements of human. Education is to make a man lead a better life. Educated people are expected to be able to listen to good music, read good books, watch plays and most of all, take an interest in the world.

    I would agree that making a good living is an important reason for education, but certainly not the most important or the only reason.

    When I was in the middle school, I was good at many subjects        (除了) English. It was a little difficult for me and I often made        (错误) in the test. I felt very sad.

    Luckily, my English teacher Miss Li was       （相当地）kind. She advised me to buy a dictionary and       (提议，提出) to help me solve        (主要的，基础的) problems.
