Edison had a quick mind about inventions (发明), but not always about other things. One day he got a notice. It said he must pay some money to the government by the next day. If he was late, he would have to pay more money.
Edison went to the city office, many people were waiting there in line to pay. While he waited, his mind was busy with ideas about a new invention. When he arrived at the little window, the man in it said to Edison, "Young man, what's your name?"
Edison looked at the man, surprised.

Other people paid the man, Edison stood there and tried to remember his name. The day ended, and he met a friend. He had to ask the friend what his name was.
There was a not very brave hunter (猎人) but he liked to boast (夸耀) to his friends about his brave deeds. Once he went to the forest to hunt. There he met a woodman and asked him, "Can you tell me where I can find the tracks (踪迹) of a lion? Do you know where lions live?"
"Yes." said the woodman. "I can show you not only the tracks of a lion but also the lion himself. Please come with me."
The hunter's face turned pale and he said, "Oh, no, thank you. I'm looking for a lion's tracks, and not for the lion himself."
When his friends heard about the story, they laughed at the hunter. "My friend," they said, "Remember, saying and doing are two things. Action speaks the loudest of all. Next time show us a real lion, then we'll know how brave you are."
Once upon a time, there were four blind men in the same village. Every day, they sat together and talked about interesting things. Once they were sitting under a big tree and talking about elephants. All of them didn't know what an elephant was like. They wanted to know very much.
At this time, a man was driving an elephant. The four blind man wanted to touch it. The man allowed them to do so. They were very happy.
